In 2011 I was asked to pitch for the Ensemble Theatre’s seasonal creative and collateral. Each theatre season has 10 – 12 plays that needed to be visualised for the subscriber brochure and season launch and for ongoing marketing support materials for the Theatre such as Advertising, Posters and DL fliers.
The 2012 season was based on clean, white, bold photography style (working with Dario Gardiman) – Each image had an element of red and pencil illustration which tied each play together for the season. The typography for the plays and posters was changed also to be more dramatic and created a strong visual identity for the season and the company that continued into the next year.
2013 – this years season involved illustrating the lead characters and then producing giant posters which we photographed on location around sydney.
2014 – Studio location allowed us to play with projections over the actors with black and white portraits as key images for large posters and advertising.
2015 – This season we shot portraits of the actors on white and created a pastel colour palette for each play .
